Liposuction Surgery in Hyderabad

Liposuction Overview

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.

Non-Surgical Fat Removal from the Stomach or Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in India. Men and women alike have been amazed by this surgery’s capability to remove stubborn fat where exercise, diet, and other attempts have been unsuccessful. Liposuction works by surgically eliminating excess fat from many parts of the body, using a device that suctions fat from underneath the skin.

What is Laser Liposuction?

Laser lipo is a non-invasive alternative to conventional liposuction to tighten skin and reduce fat. It is an innovative FDA-approved technique for the removal of unwanted body fat. It utilizes laser technology to break down fat cells.

We Offer both Surgical & Non Surgical Liposuction in Hyderabad at the Most Affordable Cost with Safe and Proven Results.

Best Candidates for Laser Liposuction Surgery in Hyderabad

Surgical liposuction is reserved for clients who are near or at their ideal weight. It is not a solution for weight loss and should not be looked at as a weight-loss method. Good candidates for liposuction are men or women who demonstrate:

  • A healthy skin tone with minimal to no excess or sagging skin
  • A reasonable and stable weight
  • Localized excess fatty deposits that diet and exercise cannot improve
What to Expect

Our Liposuction surgery doctor will evaluate the areas of fat that the client wishes to improve upon. Our team will tailor an individualized treatment plan that lists the areas to address, as well as the desired amount of fat to be removed. During surgery, a device known as a cannula is inserted through the skin and gently removes fat cells.

A solution containing local anesthetic and tumescent fluid is introduced beneath the area of concern to help minimize bleeding, bruising, and overall client discomfort. Controlled removal of fluid and fat is accomplished in layers to produce an improved contour. During liposuction, a motor helps control how much fat is removed and at what speed. Fat removal can range from several ounces to a few pounds.

Liposuction Recovery Time

Liposuction is an out client procedure that is performed under general anesthesia. The results will not be evident for several weeks as there will be some swelling after surgery. Compression garments will be required to control the swelling and to help the overlying tissues adapt to the new contour. Clients can return to light activities within 1-2 weeks and can expect a full recovery within about 4-6 weeks. Liposuction does leave a small scar where the cannula was inserted, but it is not noticeable once it fades over time.

Liposuction FAQ's

1) What areas can be treated with liposuction?

Liposuction is suitable for fat removal from virtually any part of the body, but popular areas include the lower back, inner thighs, upper arms, stomach, chin, hips, abs, knees, loins and ankles.

It is also popular for men around the breast area for a condition called 'gynecomastia'.

2) Does liposuction work and how long do the results last?

You may be wondering if liposuction works – to put it simply, yes!

Liposuction provides a quick, safe and effective solution for the permanent removal of unwanted excess fat deposits from the body. When you lose weight, by diet or exercise, all your fat cells shrink in size, but they do not disappear.

With liposuction, the cells themselves are removed and are therefore not available to become enlarged again under any circumstances. Even if you put on a lot of weight the new relative shape remains.

3) What is recovery from liposuction like?

The results of liposuction typically come in stages, varying by individual. You’ll likely see some results immediately after surgery, but swelling and bruising are normal and can take weeks to resolve. Some residual swelling can persist for several months. Most people see good results from 6 weeks but final results 6 - 12 months after surgery.

It is completely normal to experience minor swelling, bruising and tenderness following liposuction, but bruising will subside completely within 3 weeks.

You can usually commence normal daily activities and exercise as soon as you are comfortable, but in general, the only restriction is to wait until your stitches are removed (7-10 days post-surgery). Sometimes when large amounts of fat are removed patients are somewhat anaemic and need to take iron for a few weeks and you may be asked to wear a support garment to reduce bruising and swelling.

4) What kind of anaesthesia will I need for liposuction?

The procedure can be done under local or general anaesthesia but can be uncomfortable, slower and more difficult to obtain good results under local anaesthesia. We would reserve this for small areas, such as the neck, or smaller pockets of fat. We use variant anaesthesia called TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia) which is delivered by our team of top anaesthetists. Intravenous delivery enables our anaesthetic team to monitor the depth of anaesthesia more closely using a measurement of the brainwaves. The result is that you will wake up feeling much better than traditional anaesthesia and will be ready to go home the same day.

5) Is liposuction right for me?

Both men and women undergo liposuction every year to achieve a variety of different goals. For men, liposuction can often successfully treat gynecomastia and other fat areas around their torso, while women use it more commonly around the stomach, hips and thighs. If one or more of the following apply to you, liposuction is an option to consider:

  1. You have excess fat deposits on your hips, belly, thighs, neck or chest that won’t respond to diet or exercise.
  2. You feel like certain areas are out of proportion with the rest of your figure. Reducing excess fat in one area of the body can bring it into better balance with your natural features.

and using liposuction to remove excess fat on one area of the body can make you seem more in proportion. The ideal liposuction patient has localised fat deposits & good skin tone.

However, it’s important to have realistic expectations about what liposuction can achieve. If any of the following apply to you, then liposuction may only offer limited success in helping you achieve your goals. Your cosmetic surgeon can recommend the options best suited to your needs.

  1. You have loose, sagging skin. Liposuction is designed specifically to target fatty tissue, it will not significantly improve the appearance of loose skin. Other body contouring procedures, such as a tummy tuck or body lift, maybe better options for you.
  2. You want to lose a significant amount of weight. Liposuction can improve your shape, which can help you look thinner and more fit, but it’s not a weight-loss method. While some overweight patients can benefit from the reshaping effects, the most satisfied patients tend to be happy with their weight before surgery.
  3. You are just looking to address cellulite. While liposuction can remove fat, it cannot always remove the appearance of cellulite. If it is just cellulite and not fat removal that is your main concern, we recommend Cellulase.
6) What are the alternatives to liposuction?

Liposuction surgery is not the solution for every patient, and if you have any of the following concerns you may want to look at alternative options:

Liposuction can improve your shape, which can help you look thinner and more fit, but it’s not a weight loss method. While some overweight patients can benefit from the reshaping effects, the most satisfied patients tend to be happy with their weight before surgery.

Regarding non surgical alternatives to removing stubborn pockets of fat, there is very little that provides the same, permanent effect quickly. Please see our non-surgical fat reduction page for more information on this.

7) What are the different types of liposuction?

Our Expert Fat Removal Specialists pioneered Liposuction and introduced it into Hyderabad. The basic technique remains, but he has continued to develop and refine the procedure so that now the DOCPLUS INDIA offers various liposuction techniques, but only those, which are considered safe and effective and have specific uses.

Traditional liposuction: We generally use traditional simple liposuction to remove small areas of fat and usually under local anaesthesia, such as a bulge or lipoma. It is particularly useful for treating the neck and the chin, as it is at least as effective as any other technique, is simple and has the fewest potential complications. We use this regularly to harvest fat for processing and re-injection as fat grafting.

Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL): MicroAire and Lipomatic are two of several mechanically enhanced techniques. They remove the fat as the motorised cannula moves back and forth, sideways or rotates. It is very effective and popular amongst surgeons, primarily because there is less physical effort involved.

Laser Assisted Liposuction (LAL): The most successful of these techniques is the Smartlipo, now in its third generation, Smartlipo Triplex. We are lucky to have the pioneer of this treatment, Mr Al-Ayoubi, with his huge experience using the technique in all areas. As in all liposuction, there is skin tightening, but the laser enhances this, particularly around the inner thighs and arms where the skin is thin.

Cellulaze: Subcision is the standard minor surgical technique in which tethering fibres are cut through tiny stabs. It has been recently popularised by an expensive adaptation called Cellfina. Cellulase, however, does all this by laser, but in addition, has a second laser which shrinks the skin. It can also treat large areas in a single session.

We do not use ultrasound techniques, popularised in the Hyderabad such as Vaser, as we consider that it has no advantage and adds unnecessary complications.

8) What are the side effects of liposuction?

At DOCPLUS INDIA we have developed the best protocols for the best results with the lowest level of risk. Whilst there are always minimal risks associated with all types of surgery, we take direct steps to mitigate these:

We treat all our patients in our dedicated hospital in which we control and maintain standards to the highest levels.

All procedures are carried out as day cases, allowing patients to get home to their home environment and reducing the risk of infection. Our post-operative infection rates are among the lowest in the country.

We only allow surgeons to practice who have demonstrated a track record of being amongst the most skilled in the country. With carefully selected techniques, we avoid uneven results.

We avoid techniques such as ultrasound Vaser which can burn the skin and cause collections of fluid (seroma) which have to be drained.

We provide comprehensive post-operative care at the hands of our expert team of cosmetic nurses.

9) Does the skin become loose and flabby after liposuction?

All techniques of liposuction tighten the skin. This tightening will be more significant where the skin is thin, such as in the neck and arms. Elsewhere, where the skin is heavier, it will generally be sufficient to take up the extra laxity due to the removal of fat. In areas where the skin is already hanging in folds, such as the hanging bottom or abdominal apron, these folds tend to remain.

However, where there are folds of heavy fat over the lower back, liposuction can make a very significant improvement. In extreme cases of fat removal, where the skin is loose, such as the abdominal apron, or where there has been significant weight loss, a combination of liposuction and skin excision may be the better option.
